We are very excited about this year’s Acquisition & Turnaround Conference. There are great acquisition opportunities for those seeking to buy a Harley-Davidson dealership as there are even more motivated sellers than in the past. The harsh reality is that the selling price is significantly less than it was a few years ago. With the implementation of needed protocols and controls after a leveraged buyout, we have documented cases of new dealers recouping their entire investment in two years.

With a funded management buyout (MBO), you can receive an up-front payment while providing an avenue for a protégée to earn a significant equity position by increasing performance. We will share the details of a real transaction where the dealer received a premium price and still retains a 40% interest. A 40% share of a Harley dealership operating at full potential could be more than 100% of what you are now keeping — without all the grief!
Or, consider doing just what a new buyer would do and keep the entire 100%! You must configure your dealership, especially the sales department, to operate in what is the real-world market today. It is truly a great time to buy, and I am putting my money where my mouth is.
I have personally invested in six Harley-Davidson dealerships with what amounts to all of my retirement funds.
